Cercis occidentantalis (Western Red Bud)

Cercis occidentalis  known as Western Red bud in California is native to this area.  A tough plant that can survive the deer eatting on it.   Has some pest problems with twig borer and aphids.  Requires very little water.  Full sun to part shade.  Flower blooms last long so you can use the flower cuttings in vases.
